GRI5TH RECEIVES TWO TOP INTERNATIONAL CREATIVE AWARDS
GRI5TH Receives Two Top International Awards
Out of thousands of submissions from more than eighty countries, Meridian, Mississippi-based Gri5th, LLC, led by creative director Stacey Deen Griffith, is named a bronze winner in two coveted international creative competitions—the 2022 Summit Creative Awards, and the 2022 International Design Awards (IDA). The winning work was for Gri5th’s client Ferguson & Associates Architecture, PLLC, and the Hinds County School District’s Raymond High School.
“Raymond High School’s basketball program is practically legendary now. When asked to design an 87-foot by 12-foot mural that would greet their fans—and visiting competitors—I knew we had to create high-powered imagery,” said Griffith. “These student athletes exhibit incredible work ethic. I’m honored to have the opportunity to create something special for them.”
The Summit Creative Award recognizes and celebrates the creative achievements of agencies worldwide with annual billings under $30 million. The Board of Judges, which included professionals from 11 countries, looked for innovative creative concepts, strong executions, and the ability to communicate and persuade. “Only deserving entries receive recognition with vetted judges, tough judging criteria, and a two-phase blind judging process,” said Jocelyn Luciano, Managing Director for the Summit International Awards. “The creative work this year was outstanding.”
IDA Jury Member, Erik Behrens, Creative Director at AECOM, commented, “This year has demonstrated again that the IDA has truly become a destination for great creative work and the who’s who in the design industry. What makes judging the IDA special is the opportunity to discover fresh ideas from the best designers around the world.” Many of the world’s largest agencies and most recognizable brands have submissions in the IDA’s competition in the design disciplines of architecture, interior, product, graphic and fashion. “The IDA had a record number of entries in 2022 and the jury had an enormous task in selecting the winners from some truly outstanding design submissions,” added Jill Grinda, VP Marketing for the IDA.
The award-winning mural was created by Gri5th as a digital graphic design depicting various boy and girl Ranger basketball players, championship celebration scenes, and featuring the new Raymond High School logos and Ranger mascot, which were also recently designed by the company. The 1,044 square feet, wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling mural design was printed in high resolution to vinyl wrap and installed in an interior lobby of Raymond High’s impressive new gymnasium.
Head basketball coach Tony Tadlock leads the Rangers’ reigning MHSAA Class 4A state champions boys’ team and is also a former Meridian Wildcat assistant coach. “When we finally saw the mural in person, our team was blown away. When opponents come, it’s first thing they see. The mural captivates all that we stand for and portrays the winning culture here at Raymond High School. ‘RangerNation’ is proud to call it ours,” offers Coach Tadlock, who was recently named MHSAA Coach of the Year for 2022.
Ferguson & Associates Architecture is the architect of record for the Raymond High School Gymnasium and Center for the Performing Arts project, executing the master planning, design, and program management for this 71,500 square foot, $18.5M facility, which includes a 2,000-seat gymnasium.
The Gri5th, LLC, creative agency recently relocated to Meridian, where co-founders Stacey Griffith, and husband Greg Griffith, are from originally. The company has been based in Jackson, MS, for more than twenty-five years. Greg is also co-founder and Chief Product Officer of the Ridgeland-based tech company, EdgeTheory.
